okay. time to show you what im really all about. im gonna post some of my favorite music videos and my faovrite bands right now and gush about how excited i am about some of them.
D.R.U.G.S. -
I seriously recommend you listen to the song - but not only that, watch the short film they put out as the music video. Its about nine minutes long, but its not only visually stunning, but gut wrenching and kind of terrifying. Definitely not something to watch if you're home alone by yourself in the middle of the night. [I would post the video, but it has some serious swearing and nudity in it. SOOO not really safe for public viewing, unless you see the edited one.] The singer is Craig Owens, formerly of Chiodos. I honestly have zero idea why they would ever in a million years let him go, but he made a stellar band. It's a total superband. It has Matt Good, formerly of From First to Last in it too, which is another reason I'm really glad I found them. Anyways. Kind of a dark was to start it out - promise they get more light-hearted.
MODSUN-
okay. dont even ask me about modern sunshine. dont even question it. it isnt normal rap/hip-hop shit. i seriously love him so much. there is no explaining. look him up, singing 'no girlfriend.' im not even gonna explain this one. just watch.
Black Veil Brides -
oh my god. dont insta-judge me on this one either. This is the only BVB song i like, even though I'm really debating to go see them play for this song. I think the video has a pretty decent message, but I just love the song. I usually hate screamer bands. Yaknow, I shouldnt have to defend it. Whatever. Take your choice on this one.
FUN.
Once you get past the total lip-sync vibe from the front man, the song is fantastic. The frontman is the former of The Format, but I like this band much better. I'm honestly not a fan of the music video, but that is just me. Give them a serious listen though. Their other tunes are a bit deeper and my favorite is 'The Gambler', so give that a quick search.
My Chemical Romance-
You all knew it was coming. As a life-long member of the MCRmy, there is no negative things to be said to me about them ever or you will be murdered. SING is an inspirational song that I think everyone in the world should listen to and watch the video. See if the suicide mission they put themselves on to save the missile kid doesnt bring tear to your eyes. YOU JUST SEE. "The Worlds Most Dangerous Band" my ass.
Mindless Self Indulgence -
"Never Wanted To Dance" is by far my favorite MSI song. I love that they showcase LYN-Z's backbend [which i have posted many a picture of on here]. There is a bit of irony here that i posted MSI & My Chem next to each other, since Lyn-z and gerard are married and jimmy, the lead singer of MSI is the main Draculoid in the SING video. Sorry. Bit of fan-based humor there. Anyways, check out this one too. Total love, and I adore the idea of the DDR insipired video.
The Used -
this band holds a special place in my heart - especially this song. When I was dating man-we-dont-speak-of, he turned me on to The Used. He used to play me Blue & Yellow all the time, and I still love that damn song. But, this one is Buried Myself Alive which helped me get over a lot of things right then, along with My Chem's "Revenge" album. I reccomend their stuff from "In Life & Death" higher than the hew "Heroin" album. Bert, the singer got a bit too messed up in my opinion. But I love their older stuff to death. High recommend.
Anyways. Theres my current loves, with a couple older ones. I tried to stay balanced with happier music than some of the darker stuff. it didn't really work. I might do another one of these in the near future with some really old From First to Last & some Bright Eyes.
...their new abum is ArtWork. nevermind the 'Heroin' part. and i just bought it. Its fabulous.
